Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) seeks Deputy Director for Legal Services for Western Office
Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) is the leading national organization working to ensure that no refugee or immigrant child faces immigration court alone. KIND is dedicated to providing pro bono representation as well as positive systemic change in both law and policy to improve the protection of unaccompanied immigrant and refugee children. KIND also engages in programming in Central America and Mexico to promote the best interests and protection of migrant children throughout the region.
KIND seeks a Deputy Director for Legal Services for its Western Office. The Deputy Director directly supervises the Managing Attorneys for KIND’s four Western field offices in Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Fresno, and Houston. Together with the other deputies, this position works to ensure excellent and consistent legal services operations nationwide and plays a critical role in KIND’s mission of ensuring that unaccompanied children have high quality legal representation in their immigration proceedings. This is a full-time position based in any of the following: Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles or Houston, and may include a telecommuting component.

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington seeks qualified candidates for the position of Term Law Clerk for United States Magistrate Theresa L. Fricke. The Term Law Clerk will be appointed for a two-year term and will begin in March 2019. There is a possibility that the position could be extended for a duration of up to four years.
Qualifications: Candidate must be a law school graduate from an accredited law school by the position start date. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, accurate, and efficient researcher and writer. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation or federal court experience.

Community Action of Skagit County seeks a part-time Staff Attorney to work under direction of the Skagit Volunteer Lawyer Program Manager. The Staff Attorney will manage and expand the mentoring program; recruit volunteer attorneys to participate in the mentoring program as well as other volunteer lawyer program activities; coordinate and supervise remote legal clinics as designated (specifically, the Will Clinics and the clinic in Concrete); and perform administrative functions in support of the Skagit Volunteer Lawyer Program.
