The USPTO is seeking applications for the unpaid Patent Experience Externship Program (PEEP). PEEP offers opportunities in the areas of engineering, science, and law.  The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is responsible for granting US intellectual property rights for patents and trademarks and providing inventors exclusive rights over their discoveries. It’s an effort that contributes to a strong global economy, encourages investment in innovation, and cultivates an entrepreneurial spirit in the 21st century.

There is an opportunity to join the Washington State Attorney General Office’s Torts Division in Tumwater as an Assistant Attorney General and thereby doing work that makes a true difference to the people of Washington. The Torts Division’s Transportation team represents the Department of Transportation, Washington State Patrol, Department of Licensing, Department of Health, General Administration, and the Attorney General’s Office. Attorneys on this team regularly defend the state in cases including highway design and maintenance, excessive force, and civil rights.

Due August 11: Garvey Schubert Barer Diversity Fellowship

The Kenneth L. Schubert Jr. Diversity Fellowship will be offered to students who will be in their second year of law school during the 2017-2018 school year. The Diversity Fellow will receive a paid 10-week summer associate position in our Seattle office between their second and third year of law school. After successful completion of the summer associate position and upon acceptance by the Diversity Fellow of an offered attorney position with the firm, the Diversity Fellow will receive an additional $15,000 ($7,500 payable at the start of the first semester of the third year, and another $7,500 payable at the start of the second semester of the third year) upon showing of continued outstanding academic performance.

Federal Defenders of Eastern Washington and Idaho is now accepting applications for a Fellowship Attorney position(s) in Spokane, Washington. This is a position for Fiscal Year 2018, with the possibility of an extension for Fiscal Year 2019. The primary practice areas will be before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington, the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho, and United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. This organization litigates cases in four locations: Richland, Yakima, and Spokane, WA (all in the Eastern District of Washington); and Coeur d’Alene, ID (District of Idaho).
