Due July 23: Assistant Attorney General – Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in Olympia (or Seattle)

The work of the Washington State Attorney General’s Office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) focuses on both civil and criminal law enforcement.  This senior litigator position will have responsibility to investigate, prosecute and litigate Medicaid provider fraud and abuse and neglect using a full array of civil and criminal remedies.  The federally funded and mandated MFCU is dedicated to the mission of deterring fraud and abuse and recovering funds lost to provider fraud.  With the passage of the Washington False Claims Act (RCW 74.66) during the 2012 legislative session, the MFCU’s mission has expanded significantly, to include investigating and intervening in whistleblower actions related to false Medicaid claims.   The MFCU Headquarters is located in Olympia, Washington with some employees also located at the AGO’s Spokane Office.  For the right candidate we will consider a primary duty station in Seattle.  The Unit currently has a staff of 37.5 FTEs, including attorneys, auditors, investigators, and professional support staff.
