The foundation will award two-year Fellowships for 2018 law school graduates and outgoing judicial law clerks who want to work in the public interest. Grants are made to organizations only, not to individuals. Therefore, before the application date of September 18, all applicants must identify a sponsoring public interest organization. The sponsor must be a 501(c)(3) organization that provides civil legal services to the poor, including the working poor, the elderly, the disabled or those deprived of their civil or human rights.

Pierce County Volunteer Legal Services is excited to announce two open staff attorney positions.

The VOCA Staff Attorney will provide civil legal assistance to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, harassment and other crimes, including financial exploitation. Services will include advice and counsel, brief services at follow-up appointments, and extended representation and litigation. The VLS VOCA Staff Attorney will assist clients with protection orders, family law proceedings, as well as address legal issues surrounding collateral impacts of victimization. The Puyallup/Urban Indian Staff Attorney will work with staff and volunteers, the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, and other legal services providers to develop civil legal service programs that help meet the specific and unique needs of Puyallup Tribal Members, American Indians, Alaska Natives and First Nations People in our community.  Click here for the full job description.

The Consumer Protection (CP) Division of the Washington State Attorney General’s Office is seeking to hire two Team Leaders to supervise attorney teams, litigate consumer protection cases, and take on management and leadership projects within the Division.

The CP Division enforces the Consumer Protection Act and other state and federal laws prohibiting unfair or deceptive business practices.  The CP Division’s cases often involve cutting edge and challenging legal issues, as well as coordination with other state and federal enforcement authorities.
